Fulton Hogan are making fantastic progress in the removal of driftwood in the Kawarau Arm. In just four days they have covered around 900m of the shoreline from Richards Beach to Butchers Drive.
It is the first time this part of the arm has been cleared and we cannot wait to see all the work finished. Great work Fulton Hogan and Contact Energy! Day 1 of Contact Energy's four week project to remove driftwood from the Kawarau Arm. Great to see them doing more to care for the visual amenity of the area. Its a massive project and very complicated but their great staff will work tirelessly for the next month to improve the look and safety of the Kawarau Arm.
Read Contact Energy’s responsibility, or duty, to address silt, or “sludge”, under its Landscape and Visual Amenity Management Plan 2020-2025” (“L&VA Plan”).
