Today the Lake Boys worked alongside ORC hydrologists looking at velocity and sediment build up around the Bannockburn Bridge. This is part of a cross-curricular project with Social Studies and Science. The focus of this project is to monitor sediment build up throughout the year and how this impacts Lake Dunstan and recreational use.
An awesome opportunity for our students to continue learning about our environment, work with the experts and learn about how the measuring equipment works. Some pretty cool stuff! Thanks to Kieran Parsons and Stuart Land (Cromwell College), Johnno Young and Nick from ORC, for helping the Lake Boys raise more awareness around Lake Dunstan. Watch this space.
