Great New Zealand River Journeys is a three-part series exploring the history and majesty of the Waikato, Wanganui and Clutha rivers filmed in 1991.

In this episode comedian Jon Gadsby follows the Clutha River all the way from the Southern Alps to the coast near Balclutha. On the way he gets first-hand experience of bungy jumping, jet boating, and rafting. Gadsby tours the Clyde Dam, visits Cromwell before the old town ends up underwater, and meets pioneer winemaker Verdun Burgess, at "the southern most vineyard in the world". As Gadsby nears the mouth of the river, he is glad to get his own mouth around some whitebait fritters.
