Cromwell Community Tool Shed

Purpose

Cromwell has a large number of community groups relative to its population size, creating a strong desire to improve the area's wildlife and recreational spots. Many of these groups and schools want to undertake projects but often struggle to find funding and, when they do, the majority often goes toward the same thing - tools. The trust believes providing a community tools shed would enable these groups to direct their funds to other parts of their project to achieve a better outcome and empower more projects in the region.

History

Picture
In October 2021 we successfully received a grant for $8,580 from the CODC Cromwell Community Board to purchase a container and internal storage for a community tool shed. We are now busy securing permits and funding/donations of tools with the plan of unveiling a fully stocked container shortly.

Tools

We are working hard to find funding and donations to make this the best community tool shed in New Zealand and hope to have the container filled to the brim! From spades to hard hats, screwdrivers to buckets, we want to provide everything needed to make your project a success. If you have high-quality tools to donate or are a business wanting to help, please fill out the form below and we will be in contact as soon as possible!

ITM Cromwell have been incredibly generous and are donating a staggering $3,000 of tools towards this project. We thank them for their ongoing commitment to support community projects to protect and improve the region!

Location - TBC

We are currently applying for a permit to place the container in McNulty Inlet, Cromwell.  We believe this location is central to all groups keen to use the tools and gives the project a great presence in the community.

We hope to have the permit granted in the new year, and ready for planting in spring. Watch our Facebook page for updates

Donations

The Tool Shed always accepts donations of tools for community use. A wide variety of tools are needed, including hammers, power tools, lawn and gardening tools, and painting supplies. Please let us know below what you are wanting to donate to a good cause.

Only donate tools in good condition, please!
